# Riftbound Meta Before RQ LA: Lux Rises, Kennen Stays on Top and Master Yi Starts to Fall

Then the data from both the Baltimore and Lucca Showdown Series might give us a good idea of what to expect.

The meta is clearly evolving.

Kennen is still performing extremely well, but he is still not able to convert that dominance into a major tournament win — which is kind of crazy for what is probably still the "best deck of the set".

At the same time, a few new Legends are starting to rise.

Kennen and Lux Are the Two Main Outliers

If we combine both Showdown Series, the meta map shows two clear outliers:

Kennen and Lux.

As usual, Kennen remains the most played deck with around 10% play rate, while still maintaining an excellent 60.2% winrate.

Nothing really surprising here anymore. Kennen continues to be both popular and extremely efficient.

The more interesting result is Lux. Only 5 players brought her across the two events, but together they achieved a 70.5% winrate. Of course, the sample is very small, so we should not overreact yet. But 70.5% is high enough to make Lux one of the Legends to watch going into Los Angeles.

Akali Is Slowly Getting Better

Akali is still below 50% winrate, but her results are moving in the right direction. She previously sat around 42%–44%, and she is now closer to an even winrate at 48.5%. That is still not enough to suddenly call Akali one of the best Legends in the format, even if she won both Singapore and Shenyang.

However, after Gorica's win in Singapore and the recent improvement in her average results, it looks like players are slowly figuring out how to make her work.

Lucian Might Be the Next Legend to Watch

Looking at the top-performing Legends, we find:

• Lux
• Kennen
• Leona
• Jayce

But one of the most surprising Legends in the data is Lucian.

Historically, Lucian has often been below 50% winrate.

This time, he climbed to 52.4%, while also making several appearances near the top of both tournaments:

• Top 3 at Lucca
• Top 7 and Top 2 at Baltimore

That is starting to become difficult to ignore. One good result can be variance but multiple deep runs across different events are much more interesting. Lucian may not be one of the main decks yet, but I would definitely keep an eye on him for LA.

Is Master Yi Starting to Fall Off?

Another interesting trend is Master Yi. He seems to be getting weaker and weaker in the current meta. When we look at his matchup spread, he struggles against many of the most popular decks. Outside of Akali, there are not many matchups where Yi looks particularly comfortable.

This could simply be the result of the meta shifting toward decks that naturally perform better against him. But there may also be another explanation. Players have been playing against Master Yi for the entire set. They know the common patterns, the important turns and the cards they need to respect.

Top Players Seem to Know How to Beat Yi

The trend becomes even more obvious when we filter the data to include only top player matches. Master Yi shows even more signs of meta exhaustion. The deck becomes easier to read, and therefore easier to counter. The best players know how to beat Master Yi, and the data seems to reflect that. This does not mean Yi is suddenly bad. But compared to the beginning of the set, his edge may be disappearing. If that continues in Los Angeles, we may finally be seeing the beginning of Yi's downfall.

The Meta Is Far From Solved

The biggest takeaway from Baltimore and Lucca is probably that the format is still moving. Kennen is still the deck everyone needs to respect, but preparing only for Kennen is not enough anymore. Lux is showing extremely promising early results.Lucian is putting together several strong tournament finishes. The average Akali player is slowly improving (while the best players are winning with her). And Master Yi may be losing some of the advantage he had earlier in the set.

It looks like the meta is far from being solved. Players who can anticipate which Legends are about to rise could have a major edge going into RQ Los Angeles.

Yes, you need to be strong against Kennen. But you also need to be ready for the Legends that are starting to challenge the established meta.
